The Stonewall Democratic Caucus of Sarasota County reopened its doors on May 17, 2017, and this last year’s been one for the books. Our name, which commemorates the Stonewall riots, showcases our focus on advocating on behalf of LGBT Democrats and their straight allies- and over the past year, we’ve been fighting hard, recruiting members and getting petitions signed at community events and protecting human rights ordinances in cities and towns across Sarasota County. Our goal is to recruit and support Democrats who support LGBT rights, and continue our fight for human rights ordinances, conversion therapy bans, rights for trans students, and more- all while creating a welcoming community for local Democrats eager to get involved. We meet at the Sarasota County Democratic Party office, at 7358 S Tamiami Trail, the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Drop by sometime- you’ll like what you see!
